Saves the entity permanently.

Parameters

\Drupal\Core\Entity\EntityInterface $entity: The entity to save.

Return value

SAVED_NEW or SAVED_UPDATED is returned depending on the operation performed.

Throws

\Drupal\Core\Entity\EntityStorageException In case of failures, an exception is thrown.
