Object oriented style
string $mysqli->connect_error;
Procedural style
Returns the last error message string from the last call to mysqli_connect().
Returns:
A string that describes the error. NULL is returned if no error occurred.
Examples:
$mysqli->connect_error example
Object oriented style

$mysqli = @new mysqli('localhost', 'fake_user', 'my_password', 'my_db');
// Works as of PHP 5.2.9 and 5.3.0.
if ($mysqli->connect_error) {

The above examples will output:
